Institute of Certified Records Managers Elects Dave P. McDermott, CRM, 28 years as a records and information management professional, to begin term as Regent for Legislation and Appeals, in January 2010.

Boise, Idaho. -- The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM), an international certifying body for Records and Information Management Professionals, has posted their recent election results confirming Dave McDermott, CRM, as Regent for Legislation and Appeals, to begin term in January of 2010.

Dave is the Records Manager for J.R. Simplot Company in Boise, Idaho. He earned his Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation in 2003. He received a Corporate Achievement Award for outstanding performance for litigation support in 1997. Dave has also served as Chapter President of the Boise Valley Chapter of ARMA and ARMA's Great Northwest Regional Director. He has published several professional articles and presented records management topics in North America, Japan and Austria.

Currently he serves as the Institute's Regent for Certification Maintenance and is a Past President of ARMA International and the recipient of its Distinguished Service Award in 2008.

Dave and his wife Barbara and children reside in Boise, Idaho.

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) is an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers. The ICRM was incorporated in 1975 to meet the requirement to have a standard by which persons involved in records and information management could be measured, accredited and recognized according to criteria of experience and capability established by their peers. The ICRM is an independent non-profit organization administered by a Board of Regents. The ICRM serves as the official certifying body for both ARMA International and the Nuclear Information and Records Management Association (NIRMA).
